Skills development and transfer helps to build a more resilient marine conservation community. LOC runs intern opportunities for those wanting to develop their skills and gain work experience.

We run a Kenyan University Intern programme every year to facilitate and support student’s research into various aspects of our work. In addition to this we host several international university groups and interns.

Interns are exposed to meaningful and direct work that contributes to our conservation efforts and ensures real-world experience is gained.

We also have a dedicated Data & Research position for Kenyan Aquatic Science graduates. So far two of our staff have gone overseas to do Masters’ degrees and PHD’s in marine related subjects. We are very proud of them!
